THE CITY OF BLUE ISLAND

IS ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THE POSITION OF

POLICE OFFICER

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be 20 and 34 years of age on April 2, 2011 (unless statutorily exempted by 65 ILCS 5/10-2. 1-6)

• $25.00 non-refundable application fee

• Must be a citizen of the United States

• Must have obtained a high school diploma or have an equivalent high school education

• Must have an Associate’s degree from an accredited College or University or must have successfully completed and receive a passing grade in at least 60 hours of college level course work from an accredited college or university or Certificate of Completion of Minimum Standards Basic Law Enforcement Training (Police Academy Certificate) will be acceptable in place of the College credits.

• Must be in good physical health

• Must be of good moral character

• Must possess a valid driver’s license

• No felony convictions

• Must attend mandatory orientation session and pass all phases of the testing process

Required documents and applications must be received no later than 5 PM  on March 28, 2011.

Orientation and Written and Physical agility Examinations will be administered on:
