Position will oversee the operations of the Communications division, providing centralized communication services to the City of Berwyn, including the operation of a computer-aided dispatch center, design of new communication systems and maintenance of existing systems and equipment.

This position interfaces on a continuing basis with its users, especially police and fire departments, deals with sophisticated communications technology and requires a strong management effort to operate a communications center on which the effectiveness of public safety functions depend.

This position also supervises the telecommunications staff. 

Position will act as local administrator of computer aided dispatch and records management data applications, as well as the LEADS delegate.

Requirements:

• Completion of high school or equivalent GED, some college strongly preferred

• Five years progressively more responsible related work experience, with two in a supervisory capacity

• Knowledge of applicable LEADS rules and regulations and legislation

• Must have active LEADS Full Access certification

• Must have operations familiarity with all telecommunications equipment  Must maintain appropriate memberships with telecommunications organizations
