Prospective applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Must be between the ages of 21 and 35 years of age.

• Must be a United States Citizen.

• Must be a High School Graduate or its equivalent.

• Must present a certified copy of a Birth Certificate and evidence of military record if applicable.

• Must pass all exams given by the Fire and Police Commission.

• Must obtain an EMT-B certification within 18 months of employment.
