THE VILLAGE OF BARRINGTON HILLS

IS ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS

FOR THE POSITION OF

POLICE OFFICER

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 21 years of age.

  • Currently employed as a FULL-TIME police officer for a minimum of the past two years with the same department.

  • Minimum of 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university, or possess an Associates Degree in any field.

  • Possess a valid driver’s license.

  • Have at least 20/70 vision correctable to 20/20.

  • No felony convictions or convictions for certain misdemeanor violations.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Full service Municipal Policing

  • Enforcement of State and Local Laws

  • Prepare written reports on assigned tasks and attend court and testify when necessary.

  • Community Policing, assist and render aid to citizens, conduct building checks and investigate suspicious persons, vehicles, noises, etc.

  • Uniform Patrol, traffic control, motor vehicle assists and traffic crash investigations.

 

BENEFITS:

  • STARTING SALARY of $43,113.00, with the opportunity to earn $46,950.00 after 6 months, and $62,294.00 after 4 years.

  • Candidate applications will be reviewed and the candidates deemed most qualified will be invited to continue in the Village’s assessment process, to include a polygraph, medical and psychological exam, and physical agility test (Power Test), after a conditional offer of employment.
