Administrative and Training Manager


North Suburban Emergency Communications Center, a fully civilianized multi-jurisdictional center located in Des Plaines with a staff of 50, receives and dispatches police, fire and emergency medical personnel. 


The NSECC is accepting résumés via e-mail for a newly created position of Administrative and Training Manager.  This is a senior management position under the direction of the Executive Director.


The purpose of the position is to develop, implement and evaluate the operation of emergency communication training activities; implement modifications to training programs as required ensuring effectiveness and current technical or procedural compliance.  Coordinates the development of the annual training budget; monitors the expenditure of appropriations; evaluates the need for and recommends the purchase of new equipment, supplies, and services.  Provides multiple week in-house classroom training for new employees, as well as in-house continuing education training for all line level and supervisory staff members.  Provides training and refresher classes for all CTOs.



Applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • Six years of progressive responsibility in administration and training experience in a multi-jurisdictional, multi-disciplined public safety emergency communications center.

  • Certified CTO Instructor.

  • Emergency Medical Dispatch certification.

  • RPL or ENP certifications.

  • Graduation from a four year university is preferable, but not mandatory. 


            Starting Salary:


 $86,981 annually with advancement potential to $99,817

+ complete fringe benefits
