FIRE CHIEF
CITY OF NAMPA, IDAHO
(Population 70,000+)
The City of Nampa is located in
the heart of the Treasure Valley, 20 minutes west of Boise. Four stations cover
the City and surrounding fire district.
Position reports directly to the
Mayor, City Council & Fire District. Personnel: 60 (9 paramedics) suppression,
4-fire prevention, 3 administrative & 3-office support.
The Fire Chief plans, organizes,
coordinates & administers all activities of the City fire department & the
related fire district including fire prevention, inspection, suppression,
hazardous materials, & personnel. In addition prepares, administers & monitors
department budget. Duties are carried out in conformance with Federal, State &
City laws and ordinances.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from
college/university with Bachelor’s Degree in fire science
Fire administration or related &
three years of command experience in the fire service
Possession of fire inspection
and/or EMT certificates desirable
$5499+ per month DOE with
excellent benefit package. Exempt position.
