Requirements include:

• Must be at least 18 years of age and must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

• Must be a US citizen, resident of the state of Iowa and live within a designated response time after appointment. Residency restrictions do not apply to applicants.

• Must have a good driving record as determined by the City.

• Must be eligible to carry a firearm under all state and federal laws.
