Effective August 2006, the Iowa Department of Public Safety will no longer mail application packets to interested individuals. Unlike previous years where the application materials were available to download, applicants are now required to start the selection process by completing the online Peace Officer Applicant Preliminary Questionnaire. Eligibility will be determined based on the answers provided on this questionnaire. Qualified applicants will be notified via e-mail with further instructions, materials, and will be invited to begin the testing process. Applicants not meeting the minimum hiring standards as determined by the online questionnaire will be notified by e-mail and will not be invited to test.
