Graduation from high school or equivalent and four years experience as a Florida
Minimum Standards Firefighter, of which two years must have been either at the
Driver/Operator level or Rescue Lieutenant with Pump Operator Certification.
Successful completion of a pre-employment physical examination is required prior
to employment. State of Florida Fire Officer I (NFPA-1021) certification or an
Associate's degree in Fire Science.

past three years applicant must have had no convictions for reckless driving,
or driving under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances, and must
not have had a driver's license suspended pursuant to Florida law.

sworn affidavit attesting to the non-use of tobacco products.
Certification by the Alachua County Medical Director is required and must be
maintained as a condition of employment. (NOTE: This is at time of employment)
Successful applicants must meet all requirements for Drivers as listed in
Florida Statutes 401.281.
Lieutenant/Paramedic

Rescue Lieutenant with Pump Operator Certification. Successful completion of a
