Salary: $6,113 - $7,430/month

The City of Rio Vista, the seventh fastest growing city in California,

is seeking applicants for the position of Fire Chief. 

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, a team player and will have a proven track record of establishing and reaching goals.  This individual will need to be a leader who can build trust in the Department, with other City staff members and with the community.  As a member of the City’s management team, you will ensure excellence in fire safety, prevention, suppression, disaster preparedness and above all, life and property. 

This rewarding, yet challenging, position requires any combination of education and experience that has provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities for a Fire Chief. 

A typical way of obtaining the required qualifications is to possess the equivalent of eight years of experience in all phases of fire suppression and prevention, and a high school diploma or equivalent. 

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major work in fire science, public or business administration, or a closely related field is desirable.

Possession of Class C California driver’s license; possession of Class B California driver’s license; possession of a valid California State Fire Marshal Certification as a Chief Officer or completion of an equivalent program from another state or federal institution; possession of a PC 832 certification; possession of a California State Fire Marshal's Firefighter One Certificate; possession of an EMT-1 certification is desirable.

Salary: $6,113 - $7,430.  Excellent benefit package.
