Perform law enforcement, crime prevention and community policing tasks under direct and indirect supervision; investigate a wide variety of crimes and vehicle collisions, enforce state laws and city ordinances, make arrests and issue citations and write detailed police reports. We ask officers to seek innovative solutions to local problems, respond to citizen complaints of violations and provide excellent customer service.

Applicants who are currently sworn peace officers with a California public law enforcement agency who have passed the agency's probation period, - OR - applicants who hold a California POST Basic or other certificate and work experience within three years, or requalification, will be considered lateral candidates.   A copy of your most recent POST certificate must be submitted with your application to be considered for Lateral openings.
