Directs, manages, supervises and coordinates
the daily activities of the sworn and non-sworn staff in the police
department. Assists the Police Chief with planning and research,
budget preparation, personnel supervision; and coordinates assigned
activities with other City departments, divisions and outside agencies.
Serves as Acting Police Chief in the absence of the Chief.

Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice, Police
Science, Law Enforcement, or any related field. Five years of
increasing law enforcement experience including two years of
administrative and supervisory responsibility equal to Sergeant or
above. Possession of a valid Class C or higher California Driver's
license and
a good driving record. Meet the physical demands and standards required
of a Police Officer. POST Supervisory Certificate. CPR Certificate.
Master's Degree in Criminal Justice, Law
Enforcement or related field. Two years at the rank of Sergeant or above.
Successful completion of the POST Supervisory Leadership Institute
Certificate.
