EGPD SEEKS EXCEPTIONAL DISPATCH SUPERVISORS

Dispatch Supervisors will provide direction to dispatchers on how to handle emergency situations to ensure department procedures are followed. Other duties include developing and designing work schedules; monitoring and documenting employee performance; developing performance objectives and establishing performance standards; and preparing and presenting employee evaluations. Due to the nature of emergency work, Dispatch Supervisors will be required to work holidays and weekends, as well as evening, night, and early morning shifts.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Knows supervisory principles and leadership techniques

• Possesses the ability to effectively supervise, schedule, train, counsel, and evaluate personnel

• Analyzes and solves administrative and operational problems

• Operates and maintains communications equipment including radio consoles, computer terminals, telephone equipment for 911, CAD, and TDD systems

• Exhibits excellent customer service skills

• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with subordinates, peers, supervisors, and the general public

• Exercises excellent judgment, self-confidence, and a desire to serve the community

• Maintains composure and takes responsible action during stressful situations

• Communicates clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing

• Thinks creatively

• Serves as a team builder and team player

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Police Dispatcher Supervisor Salary Range: $51,079 - $66,954 annually.
