WORK HOURS:

 

0*Hours May Vary Depending On Shift Bidding WORK YEAR: 12 Months WORK WEEK: 40 hours *Location/Shift is determined by shift bidding which occurs in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement and will be determined prior to the effective date of employment.

DEFINITION To perform law enforcement and crime prevention work on the properties, grounds and facilities of the District; to control traffic flow and enforce State and local traffic regulations; to perform investigative work; and to maintain public safety.

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

Experience:

 

No experience required.

 

Education:

 

Graduation from High School, College or University or possession of G.E.D.

 

License/Certificate/Testing:

 

Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate valid California Driver's License at time of hire. Completion of a California P.O.S.T. approved Basic Police Academy at time of hire or possession of a California P.O.S.T. Basic Certificate. Completion of Academy and/or employment in a recognized law enforcement agency must have been within the last 3 years or recertification by P.O.S.T. Passing a California P.O.S.T. physical agility test and run may be required.

Eligibility Pool:

 

This recruitment may be used to create a pool of eligible candidates for future openings at any District location. Please apply if you wish to be considered for this position OR for the same position which may occur within the next twelve months.

 

 

Salary Increase:

 

Five percent increase each July 1 until top of range is reached.

Agency Shop Requirements:

 

This position is within a collective bargaining unit. Employees are required to join the Union or pay an equivalent service fee. There is a one-time initiation fee of $45 and monthly contributions of 1.1% of gross pay + $1.
