DETENTION FACILITY ASSISTANT

The Anaheim Police Department is hiring a Detention Facility Assistant to work in the detention facility. Current vacancies require staffing of the female section of the detention facility.

This position seeks someone who will:

• Receives and processes bookings, including running record checks on each arrestee.

• Receives and physically searches arrestees in accordance with State and local instructions.

• Makes periodic safety checks on the detention facility; cares for arrestees by serving meals and provides showers.

• Completes bail release and maintains bail receipt logs.

• Completes Orange County Jail transfer forms when sending arrestees to the County facility; prepares court paperwork on all in-custodies.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Journey level experience performing varied police record keeping and other clerical work.

• Knowledge of  laws and procedures associated with the care and processing of prisoners.

• The ability to work with automated police records management systems;  search female arrestees/prisoners; make safety checks of the female section of the Detention Facility and identify and report violations.
