POLICE OFFICER TRAINEE
$4,270.93 - $6,009.47 Per Month
Bilingual ability is
compensated at the rate of 5% per biweekly pay period.
Note: 11.5% of the
employees PERS contribution is deducted.
The City of Anaheim is currently conducting a
Police Officer Trainee recruitment for patrol assignments. If you meet the
qualifications listed below, you may be considered for this position, upon
successfully completing all the required processes.
This Position Requires:
High School Graduation or possession of G.E.D.
Certificate.
Age: 21 years of age at time of appointment.
Vision: No less than 20/80 in each eye (unless
soft contact lenses are worn), correctable to 20/20. Normal color vision.
Weight in proportion to height.
Possession of a valid California Class C
Drivers License at time of appointment.
Must be a United States Citizen, or in the
process of obtaining citizenship.
Bilingual skills are desirable.
Applications will be distributed by the
Anaheim Police Department, 425 S. Harbor Blvd., Anaheim, through TUESDAY,
MAY 31, 2005, (limit one application per
person).
Mandatory Informational meetings
will be scheduled at the time applications are distributed. The Informational
Meetings will be held on
Saturday,
May 21, 2005,
Wednesday, June 1, 2005,
and Thursday, June 2, 2005.
Downloading applications or scheduling appointments by phone is not
permitted.
Completed
applications will only be accepted at the conclusion of the Informational
Meeting (only the person named on the application at the time the application is
obtained will be allowed to attend the Informational Meeting).
The written examination and physical agility
test will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2005. Written exam times will be
scheduled at the conclusion of the Informational Meeting.

Further selection of candidates will include an administrative review, polygraph
examination, psychological evaluation, completion of background investigation,
administrative interview, a pre-placement medical examination which includes
drug/alcohol screening, and an interview with the Chief of Police.
NOTE: The interview with the
background investigator and completion of the background investigation will
include, but is not limited to, verification and evaluation of any present
and/or past use of illegal drugs, driving and employment history.
Candidates must be specific and complete in describing their qualifications for
this position. Failure to state all pertinent information may lead to
elimination from competition. The
successful candidate will be required to take a pre-employment medical
examination which will include a drug/alcohol screening, completion of a
background investigation (to include present and/or past use of narcotics) and
polygraph. New employees must provide documentation to establish both work
authorization and identity.
