Experienced Police Officer

 

The City Of Anaheim is currently accepting applications for Experienced Police Officer for patrol assignments. If you meet the qualifications listed below, you may be considered for this position, upon successfully completing all required processes.

 

SALARY RANGE

 

$4,380-$5,870 Per Month

 

Note: Experienced Police Officers are typically hired at the upper third of the salary range.

 

ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION IS AVAILABLE

  • Bilingual ability is compensated at the rate of 5% of base salary per biweekly pay period

  • Post Intermediate - 10% above Base Pay

  • Post Advanced - 12.5% above Base Pay, figures as follows:

  • 11.5% of the employees PERS contribution is deducted on a pre-tax basis

$5,590 - $6,604 Per Month

 

Experienced Police Officer: Possession of a P. O. S. T. Basic Certificate and employment as a Police Officer in the State of California with a municipal, or a state law enforcement agency within the last three (3) years.

 

1. High School Graduation or Possession of G.E.D. certificate.

2. Age 21 years of age at time pf employment.

3. Vision: No less than 20/80 in each eye (unless soft contact lenses are worn),

     correctable up to 20/20. Normal color vision.

4. Weight In Proportion to height.

5. Possession of a valid CA. Class C driver’s license at time of employment.

6. Must be a United States Citizen, or in the process of obtaining citizenship

7. Bilingual skills are desirable.

 

An informational meeting is scheduled on Thursday, September 9, 2004, at the East Anaheim Police Station, 8201 E. Santa Ana Canyon Road, Anaheim at 6:00 p.m. A physical agility test is scheduled on Saturday, September 11, 2004 and oral interviews will be scheduled the week of September 13, 2004.

 

Exact test times for the physical agility will be scheduled at the time the application is submitted to the front counter at the Anaheim Police Department.  Applicants must pass the agility test to receive an oral interview. Further selection will include an administrative review, medical examination which includes drug/alcohol screening, polygraph examination, psychological evaluation, background investigation, and interview with the Chief of Police.

 

The interview with the background investigator and completion of the background investigation will include, but is not limited to, verification and evaluation of any present and/or past use of drugs, driving and employment history.

Police Officer Trainee/Academy Graduate

 

The City Of Anaheim is currently conducting a Police Officer Trainee recruitment for patrol assignments. If you meet the qualifications listed below, you may be considered for this position, upon successfully completing all the required processes.

 

SALARY RANGE

 

$4,068-$5,723 Per Month

 

 

1. High School Graduation or Possession of G.E.D. certificate.

2. Age 21 years of age at time of employment.

3. Vision: No less than 20/80 in each eye (unless soft contact lenses are worn),

     correctable up to 20/20. Normal color vision.

4. Weight In Proportion to height.

5. Possession of a valid CA. Class C driver’s license at time of employment.

6. Must be a United States Citizen, or in the process of obtaining citizenship

7. Bilingual skills are desirable.

 

Applications will be distributed by the Anaheim Police Department, 425 S. Harbor Blvd., Anaheim, through TUESDAY, August 31, 2004, (limit one application per person).

 

Completed applications will only be accepted at the conclusion of a scheduled mandatory Informational Meeting (only the person named on the application at the time the application is obtained will be allowed to attend the Informational Meeting). The Informational Meetings will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2004, Tuesday, September 7, 2004, and Wednesday, September 8, 2004. The Written Examination and Physical Agility Testing will take place on Saturday, September 11, 2004 and the oral interviews will be scheduled the week of September 13, 2004. Locations and times will be announced at a later date.

 

The downloading of applications and the scheduling of meeting appointments by telephone is not permitted.

 

Further selection of candidates will include an administrative review, polygraph examination, psychological evaluation, completion of background investigation, administrative interview a pre-placement medical examination which includes drug/alcohol screening, and an interview with the Chief Of Police.

 

NOTE: The interview with the background investigator and completion of the background investigation will include, but is not limited to, verification and evaluation of any present and/or past use of illegal drugs, driving and employment history.

 

Candidates must be specific and complete in describing their qualifications for these positions.  Failure to state all pertinent information may lead to elimination from completion. The successful candidate will be required to take a pre-employment medical examination which will include a drug/alcohol screening. New employees must provide documentation to establish both work and identity.
