City of Waukesha Police Department Uniformed patrol officers who enforce local and state laws to ensure the safety and well-being of the public as well as the protection of property. Minimum Qualifications: 21 years of age, valid driver's license, no felony convictions, be certified or eligible for certification by the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board, or 66 college credits with an emphasis in criminal justice from an accredited university or college. Applicants must pass a physical agility test, written examination, oral interviews, and background investigation. Once a conditional offer of employment is extended, the applicant must successfully pass a medical examination, drug screening, and a psychological assessment prior to being confirmed by the Police & Fire Commission. All benefits are per existing labor contract which expires on 12/31/03. City paid health, dental, and life insurance. City paid State Retirement contributions. 11 paid holidays, 2 weeks vacation after one year of service, $550.00 uniform allowance per year, employee funded deferred compensation, paid or compensatory time off for overtime, flexible medical benefit plan, paid sick leave, and educational reimbursement plan. One year probationary period from date of hire or successful completion of recruit training academy. Application packets will be available from January 12, 2004 through January 26, 2004.
