Starting Salary: $2800.99 per month
The City of Ontario is now accepting applications to create a list of applicants for future openings for Police Officer. There are currently no positions open.
REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must be able to meet all Oregon DPSST requirements for certification. This includes, but is not limited to: US citizen w/valid driverís license, minimum 21 yrs old, no felony or drug related convictions, high school diploma/GED, and meet certain physical, sight, and hearing requirements.
BENEFITS: Paid overtime; incentive pay for bilingual, certifications, and field training. State retirement plan; health/dental/vision insurance, and life insurance. Paid vacation, sick, and holidays. Uniforms and equipment furnished. SEIU union position.
Prefer bilingual, Oregon Police Academy graduates, or certified police officers. Testing and a background investigation will be done on all final candidates.

POLICE OFFICER APPLICANT:
The Police Academy requires certain levels of reading and writing ability in order to qualify. Those levels are established in a test. "POST" offers these test results for $12.50 each copy. The City of Ontario will not cover this cost.
If you would like to be considered for the position, you must include $12.50 with your completed application. You will be given or mailed a receipt.
This cost will not be refunded whether or not you get the job.
