The City of Grandview Heights, Ohio, a community of 6700 residents located in Franklin County, is seeking candidates for the position of Chief of Police to manage and direct a force of eighteen full-time officers and four full- time dispatchers. The 2004 budget for the Division of Police is approximately 2.0 million dollars.
The successful candidate must demonstrate strength in effective leadership, team building, human resources, oral and written communication and public relations skills, and knowledge of municipal government structure, process and budgeting. The successful candidate will be expected to have a high degree of visibility and interaction with our community’s businesses, residents, and visitors.
Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in police administration, public or business administration, or related field and ten year’s experience in all major phases of law enforcement, including at least five years in a top-level management capacity. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
The salary range is $36,178 - $71,098, with an excellent benefit package.
