Salary (2002 not yet determined): $33,802 ($34,647 after certified training)

completed 2 years of law enforcement studies at an accredited college.

Must meet minimum standards for vision and hearing and cannot be color-blind.
Applicants who wear eyeglasses or contact lenses must meet minimum
standards of visual acuity. Vision
with corrective lenses should not be less than 20/20 in the better eye, 20/40 in
the worst eye, and 20/20 with both eyes open.
Uncorrected vision should not be less than 20/200 in either eye.
Applicants need not be residents of the City to apply.
If hired, must establish permanent residency within the City limits by
the end of the probationary period.

Applicants will be scheduled for one of the dates following the written
oral interview with a panel of the Fire & Police Commissioners will be held
with candidates selected from the eligibility pool.
Prior to hire, must undergo background investigation, polygraph, medical
including a drug screen, and psychological examinations.

p.m., Friday, April 5, 2002 or postmarked by April 5, 2002.
Application must include a copy of the applicant’s certified birth
certificate, (copy of registered certificate, not hospital copy with
footprints), copy of driver’s license, copy of high school diploma or GED
certificate. Applicants who have
degrees beyond high school must also submit a copy of that diploma and/or
applicable college transcripts. (It
is mandatory that documentation of college degree be provided or candidate will
be given no credit for that degree in the Eligibility Pool).
