Pursuant to Kenilworth Village Ordinance and the Statutes of the State of Illinois, notice is hereby given that the Superintendent of Police for the Village of Kenilworth is accepting applications for the position of Probationary Patrol Officer. Applications may be obtained at the Kenilworth Police Department, 419 Richmond Road, Kenilworth, Illinois 60043, 24 hours a day, every day, or print a copy furnished at www.kenilworthpd.org. All applications must be filed with the Superintendent of Police prior to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2003, together with a copy of the applicants birth certificate, military service record, if any, evidence of possession of a diploma from an accredited high school, or a G.E.D. certificate, copy of a valid driver's license (not a traffic citation), and a copy of the applicants transcript of grades from an accredited college or university, if applicable.

 

All applicants for appointment to the position of Probationary Patrol Officer in the Kenilworth Police Department must possess the following qualifications:

  1. United States Citizenship

  2. Must have graduated from an accredited high school or hold a G.E.D. certificate. Preference points can be awarded for college credit, military service and prior law enforcement agency experience as described in the Policies and Procedures of the Kenilworth Police Department.

  3. Must have binocular vision corrective to 20/40, make color distinctions, have normal depth perception and normal hearing ability.

  4. Passage of written, oral, physical, psychological, polygraph, drug screen and medical examinations and a thorough background investigation.

  5. Must be between the ages of 21 and 35 at the time of filing application, except as otherwise provided by the Statutes of the State of Illinois.

Appointees will be required to pass the POWER TEST.

 

All applicants shall be required to attend an Orientation Session, to be conducted at the Kenilworth Assembly Hall, 410 Kenilworth Avenue, Kenilworth, Illinois, at 7:00 p.m., on Wednesday, March 5, 2003. The time and place of the Written Exam and Physical Ability Exam will be announced at a later date.

 

The starting salary for this position is $44,120.00; plus paid life and health insurance, vacation and holiday time, sick time, tuition reimbursement, uniform allowance, voluntary deferred compensation plan and police pension.
