The Civil
Service Commission of the Village of Gurnee is accepting applications in
preparation for the eligibility list of Police Officer. The Gurnee Police
Department is an approved training program for the G.I. Bill. Entry level
position - no lateral transfers.
Mandatory
orientation session at 8:00 a.m., Sunday, February 3, 2002 at Warren Township
High School - O'Plaine Campus followed by the physical agility test and written
exam. Additional information is contained in the application packet.
Requirements:
*
Minimum age 21 years and less than age 35 years; and
*
a valid drivers license at time of application and hire; and
*
2 years active U.S. military experience; or
*
sworn (certified) U.S. police experience; or
*
completion of minimum 60 semester hours
(or 90 quarter hours) college credit.
Testing/screening
process includes but is not limited to: physical agility test, written exam,
oral interview, psychological examination, polygraph test, extensive background
check, physical examination, and drug screen. Candidates must pass each
testing/screening phase to continue in the eligibility process.
