The
Board of Fire and Police Commissioners for the Village of East Dundee will be
conducting an entry-level testing process to create a hiring list for the Police
Department. There will be an optional orientation process to address any questions and
hand out applications on Saturday morning January 12th, 2002 beginning at 9:00
A.M. at the Dundee Township Library located at 555 Barrington Avenue, East
Dundee.
Applications
will be available at the Village Hall, 120 Barrington Ave., East Dundee, Monday
through Friday from 08:30 until 5:00 P.M.
ALL completed applications must
be returned to the Village Hall by 5:00 P.M. on Thursday January 31st.
No Exceptions, applications submitted after 5:00 P.M. will not be
considered.
The
Village of East Dundee is an equal opportunity employer. Candidates for the
position of police officer must be a citizen of the United States, 21 to 35
years of age, or up to 40 years of age if the applicant is a certified Illinois
peace officer, must reside within a 25 mile radius of the Village within one
year of appointment, have a currently valid U.S. drivers license, and, if necessary have
correctable binocular vision. Applicants must have a minimum of a high school
diploma, or equivalent, and be able to demonstrate physical agility and muscular coordination to
pass a rigid physical and medical examination, including an
electrocardiogram. Must successfully pass a written, psychological and
background investigation.
Starting
annual salary is $35,000 with time and a half paid after forty hours. There are
10 paid holidays and 2 personal days. The employee is covered for Life,
Hospitalization and Dental Insurance by the Village with dependent coverage
after 10% premium by employee. The East Dundee Police Department is a member of
the downstate Illinois Police Pension Fund. The Village supplies all uniform
equipment minus your weapon.
A
completed application includes a current photo of yourself, a copy of your high
school or college diploma, a copy of your military DD 214, if your served in the
armed forces, and any other training or educational information which you feel
would help you in performing the job of a police officer.
Additional
information on dates, times and locations of the physical agility and written
examination will be given out at orientation or upon your submitting your
completed application.
