The Village of Bannockburn is seeking to hire at least one full-time police officer. All applicants must have a minimum of three (3) years police officer experience in the State of Illinois with a Municipal or Sheriff’s Department and meet the other requirements listed below. GENERAL INFORMATION The Bannockburn Police Department is staffed by 14 sworn police officers – 1 Chief, 2 Lieutenants, 4 full time officers and 7 part time officers. The department also has 2 part time records clerks and 1 bloodhound used for tracking.
Bannockburn is located 19 miles north of Chicago along I-94 in Lake County. The Village has a mix of residential estates, office buildings, retail and industrial areas. The Village is home to Trinity International University and enjoys one of the lowest crime rates in the state.
The Department is a member of the Northern Illinois Police Alarm System EST Team, the Northern Illinois Police Crime Lab, the Lake County Metropolitan Enforcement Group, and the Lake County Major Crimes Task Force.

Benefits
Salary Range: $45,000 to $65,000 (5 step process to reach top pay)
Vacation 1-5 years 12 days (96 hrs) 6-10 years 15 days (120 hrs) 11-15 years 20 days (160 hrs) 16-20 years add one day per year 21 or more 25 days (200 hrs)
Holidays 13 floating each year
