The Village of Bannockburn is seeking to hire at least one full-time police officer. All applicants must have a minimum of three (3) years police officer experience in the State of Illinois with a Municipal or Sheriff’s Department and meet the other requirements listed below. The Bannockburn Police Department is staffed by 14 sworn police officers – 1 Chief, 2 Lieutenants, 4 full time officers and 7 part time officers. The department also has 2 part time records clerks and 1 bloodhound used for tracking.

The Department is a member of the Northern Illinois Police Alarm System EST Team, the Northern Illinois Police Crime Lab, the Lake County Metropolitan Enforcement Group, and the Lake County Major Crimes Task Force.

• Experience: All applicants must have a minimum of three (3) years police officer experience in the State of Illinois with a Municipal or Sheriff’s Department.

• Citizenship: Applicants must be citizens of the United States and be of excellent moral character.

• Education: Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Vision: Applicants must have vision of, or corrected to 20/20 in each eye with no color blindness and 100% depth perception.

• Physical: Applicants must be physically fit and agile with weight in proportion to height and no amputations, which affect or interfere with the nature of police work.

• Other: Applicants must possess a valid drivers license and have a good driving record.

8. Medical exam including a drug screen

Benefits

Salary Range: $45,000 to $65,000 (5 step process to reach top pay)

16-20 years add one day per year

21 or more 25 days (200 hrs)
