Minimum Requirements

Associate's Degree in Arts or Science, an Applied Science Associate's Degree in Law Enforcement, or equivalent general education course work, in addition to three years of continuous full-time service as a police officer with the same police agency,

OR Bachelor's Degree

U.S. citizen 

No felony convictions

Valid driver's license 

Willing to accept statewide assignments

Fast Track Program 

The Fast Track program is a 13 week accelerated police academy for experienced police officers who have the desire, dedication, and commitment to become an Illinois State Trooper. You MUST meet our standard requirements before being considered for Fast Track.
