Kevin Woodside began his law enforcement career as a Community Service Officer and a
dispatcher in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago before becoming a Police Officer in a Far North community.
During his police career, which began in 1988 he has served as a patrol officer, evidence technician, accident investigator, field training officer, patrol sergeant,
and commander. He also served on the FOP team that negotiated the first contract between the police officers and the village.
He is a graduate of the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command and
the FBI National Academy. Kevin is currently serving as a Deputy Chief in a
police department north of Chicago, IL. |

About the Editor:
Tom Agos also began his law enforcement career as a Community Service Officer and a
dispatcher before becoming a police
officer in a Far North community.
During his police career, which began in 1986, he has served as a patrol officer, evidence technician,
MEG Agent, and a field training officer. Tom spent 5 years as a detective and
his responsibilities include conducting background investigations on prospective
police officer candidates, among other things.
Tom retired in 2005 as a result of an in the line of
duty injury he sustained on Memorial Day, 2004. He continues to work in law
enforcement as a crime prevention technician for a mid-sized police department
in northern Illinois. |
